F1 Australian Grand Prix
Lights out at Albert Park. The stand holds its breath as the engine noise roars to a crescendo. The cars race away and jostle for position. The Formula One World Championships are underway in Melbourne.
Since moving from Adelaide to Melbourne in 1996, the Australian Grand Prix has kicked off the Championship, bar a couple of years. Being the first race of the season, it is one of the most popular race days, as viewers and drivers are fresh with hopes for a strong year. This anticipation, as well as the lack of competitive racing for a few months, creates a party atmosphere at Albert Park. The street circuit loops around a gorgeous lake, with views to the skyline of Melbourne in one direction, and to the golden sands of Middle Park Beach in the other. You can get close to the action, and there is a palpable buzz around the circuit. The Aussies know how to put on an exciting event and 2019’s Grand Prix began with a season launch event, the first of its kind in the sport. You can catch a glimpse of the drivers as they pass Melbourne Walk, grab some street food and soak up the vibes at M-Lane or head to Legends Lane for a wide range of entertainment and fun activities. Who will top the podium? Only time will tell…
Melbourne is a fantastic city, offering both urban infrastructure and all the attractions, restaurants and luxury hotels that come with it, along with stunning beaches and tranquil parks and gardens. Make sure you get a feel for vibrant Victoria and sip a cocktail at a panoramic bar, explore the magnificent lanes of Block Arcade on Collins Street and go wine tasting in the stunning natural landscapes of the Yarra Valley. Capeseven will make this a trip to remember.
