F1 British Grand Prix
Silverstone has hosted the prestigious British Grand Prix since 1950, and since then, there have been some unforgettable moments: James Hunt’s victory and subsequent disqualification in 1976, Nigel Mansell’s infamous overtake in 1987, Lewis Hamilton’s five wins in recent years… This is the scene of drama and tension, with the track being notorious for high speeds, demonstrating just what the cars are capable of. There is a real festival atmosphere here during race weekend and the range of events have an inclusive, family-friendly feel that sets the British GP apart from some of the younger, glossier Championship fixtures. Have fun at the concerts with acts such as Razorlight and Craig David on the 2019 line-up, marvel at the iconic Red Arrows air displays and have a go at zorbing or laser tag. There’s so much to do!
Although Silverstone may not be set in a vibrant metropolis, it is located near to lots of attractions that are well worth a visit. Why not take a trip to Oxford to see its beautiful architecture and historic colleges? You could have a shopping spree in internationally-famous Bicester Village fashion outlet. And make sure you don’t leave before exploring the pretty-as-a-postcard villages of the Cotswolds. Capeseven can source the perfect hotel for your stay, as well as transport, dining options and local attractions to top it all off.
